Questions specific to customers using the OPPassessment™ platform
-
Our new Global Privacy Policy will apply equally to all customers in the UK and Europe. For customers who use OPPassessment, things will be business-as-usual in terms of the respondent personal information retention periods and research data handling. While the new Global Privacy Policy looks different from the previous version of the Privacy Policy for the UK and Europe, the protections, procedures, and processes remain the same. Similarly, how we handle personal information, international transfers, subprocessors, data subject rights, and privacy by design remains exactly the same. It’s business-as-usual for all UK Data Protection Act and UK GDPR and EU GDPR compliance.
Questions specific to customers using the Elevate® platform
-
Under our new Global Privacy Policy, a respondent’s personal information stored in a customer’s Elevate account will be deleted from the account and the Elevate platform 18 months after the respondent completes an assessment or is added to a project, whichever comes later.
This represents an important change for Elevate customers and has practical implications:
- a. Respondents’ reports will no longer be stored indefinitely in customers’ Elevate accounts. Customers should download any report before it is deleted from their account if they anticipate needing it beyond 18 months.
- b. Respondents’ assessment results will also no longer be stored indefinitely in their Elevate account. Customers may need to be more planful when working with respondents, and generate all needed reports and export those reports before their assessment results are deleted.
- c. Depending on when a respondent completes an assessment and when a report is generated, there may be a scenario where the report is accessible for only a short period of time before it is deleted along with the rest of the respondent’s personal information (that is, if the report is only generated 12 months after the respondent completed the assessment, the report will be available for only 6 months before the report and underlying data are deleted from the platform). Again, customers may need to be more planful when working with their respondents.
Furthermore, we are making an important change in how we handle data within our Research databases. We use this for scientific research and product development purposes, and now (unless respondents opt-in to be part of future research) all data held in our Research databases will be held in non–personally identifiable form. Where respondents do opt-in for future research participation, we will hold their personal information for only 18 months, after which it will be anonymized and no longer represent personal information. No individual is identified or identifiable in any of our research findings or publications.
For a more detailed explanation of what happens to respondent personal information in the most common Elevate usage scenarios, please refer to the table below.
Scenario Number of Elevate projects respondent is in Assessment status Report generated? What happens to the data? Customer impact 1 Single project Completed Yes All respondent’s personal information is deleted from the Elevate platform 18 months after the assessment was completed. - Customer should download the respondent’s report in advance of deletion if they wish to save it.
- Customer will not be able to generate any additional reports from the assessment results once they are deleted.
- Customer can generate report(s) anytime before the 18 months have elapsed from the date of assessment completion. But depending on when the report is generated, it may not be available for long before it's deleted along with the rest of the respondent’s personal information. Example: Respondent completes the assessment, but the report is generated one week before 18 months have elapsed from the assessment completion date. The report will be available for only one week before it’s deleted.
2 Single project Completed No All respondent’s personal information is deleted from the Elevate platform 18 months after the assessment was completed. - Customer can generate report(s) anytime before the 18 months have elapsed from the date of assessment completion. But depending on when the report is generated, it may not be available for long before it's deleted along with the rest of the respondent’s personal information. If the report is not generated within the 18-month period, all underlying data will be deleted and the respondent would need to re-take the assessment.
3 Single project Partially completed or not started No All respondent’s personal information as input to the platform by the practitioner or respondent is deleted from the Elevate platform 18 months after the respondent was added to the project. - Customer will need to track respondent’s progress and remind them to complete assessment within the 18 months. Through their Elevate account, customer can send the respondent a one-off reminder email or set up automatic reminders. If the respondent completes the assessment prior to the 18 months expiry, then their personal information will be retained for 18 months from the date of assessment completion.
4 Two or more projects Completed a different assessment for each project Yes Assuming Project 2 was created after Project 1:
For Project 1, all respondent’s personal information is deleted from the project 18 months after the assessment for this project was completed. After deletion, the effect will be like the respondent was never added to the project.
For Project 2, all respondent’s personal information is deleted from the project and the Elevate platform 18 months after the assessment for this second project was completed.
Note: If the customer adds the respondent to a third project before the data is deleted as part of Project 2, then the respondent’s personal information is deleted only from Project 2 and not also from the Elevate platform (that is, name and email address will be retained throughout the periods of any overlapping assessments and projects). Then, the timing of the data deletion tied to Project 3 is determined by whether the respondent completed an assessment. Similar logic applies when the respondent is in four or more projects.
- Customer should download the respondent’s report in advance of deletion if they wish to save it.
- Customer will not be able to generate any additional reports from assessment results after they are deleted.
- Same point as above about generated reports potentially not being available for long before they’re deleted along with other respondent personal information.
5 Two or more projects Completed assessment for Project 1
Partially completed or not started assessment for Project 2
Yes Assuming Project 2 was created after Project 1:
For Project 1, all respondent’s personal information is deleted from the project 18 months after the assessment was completed.
For Project 2, all respondent’s personal information is deleted from the project and Elevate platform 18 months after the respondent was added to the project.
Note: If the customer adds the respondent to a third project before the personal information is deleted as part of Project 2, then the respondent’s personal information is only deleted from Project 2 and not also from the Elevate platform (that is, name and email address will be retained throughout the periods of any overlapping assessments and projects). Then, the timing of the data deletion tied to Project 3 is determined by whether the respondent completed an assessment. Similar logic applies when the respondent is in four or more projects.
- Customer should download the respondent’s report from Project 1 in advance of deletion if they wish to save it.
- Customer will not be able to generate any additional reports from assessment results from Project 1 once they are deleted.
- Same points as above about (1) generated reports not being available for long before deletion, and (2) customers needing to remind respondent to complete assessment.
6 Two or more projects Partially completed or not started assessments from both projects No Assuming Project 2 was created after Project 1:
For Project 1, all respondent’s personal information is deleted from the project 18 months after the respondent was added to the project.
For Project 2, all respondent’s personal information, is deleted from the project and Elevate platform project and Elevate platform 18 months after the respondent was added to the project.
Note: If the customer adds the respondent to a third project before the data is deleted as part of Project 2, then the respondent’s personal information is only deleted from Project 2 and not also from the Elevate platform (that is, name and email address will be retained throughout the periods of any overlapping projects). No. Once we delete a respondent’s personal information (reports and underlying data), it is permanently removed and cannot be retrieved. Therefore, if you wish to make use of data that includes respondents’ personal information such as reports, then you will need to download and save those reports or other data before the respondent's personal information is deleted.

You will have access to those old SkillsOne reports through November 1, 2024, after which we will start deleting all respondent personal information older than 18 months old at that time, which includes these reports. If you wish to keep these reports, we advise you to download and save them to your device.

Respondents who took MBTI®Complete can access their type description report and all post-assessment content indefinitely as long as (1) they log into their Elevate respondent account at least once every 18 months, and (2) the practitioner who assigned them MBTIComplete maintains an active Elevate account. Otherwise, if those conditions are not met, the respondent’s account will be deleted and they will lose access to the MBTIComplete content.
If you use MBTIComplete with your respondents, this is important information to share with them.
-
With our new Global Privacy Policy, Elevate respondent accounts and all contents therein will be deleted 18 months after participants completed their assessment as part of the certification training. Participants are encouraged to download and save any program materials accessible via their respondent account to their device.

One of the reasons for our implementing this new Global Privacy Policy now was to ensure consistency of personal information handling for our UK and European customers on the Elevate platform. The processes, technical and organizational controls, and other data protections for handling personal information on Elevate will now reflect those in place already within the UK and Europe business, and so UK and European customers starting to use the Elevate platform can be reassured that the same robust data-handling processes they are familiar with will apply on Elevate.
